Makayla Claiborne is a visual artist and educator in Maryland, currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Art Education from Catholic University. Claiborne’s work is an exploration of identity, memory, and expression through capturing both quiet, fleeting details and the deeper emotional threads that bind them together. Raised in the digital age but infatuated with nostalgia, her work serves as part diary, part daydream: a highlight reel curated and influenced by connection, intimacy, and meaningful exchange. Everyday life, interactions with loved ones, shifting colors of a landscape, and objects that hold sentimental value become the inspiration behind her visual voice that speaks throughout the work.
